The Locos Baseball Philosophy & Approach To The Game

The expectations of the Locos Express youth players will be to represent the Locos organization with sportsmanship and act in a first class manner both on and off the field. They will always perform with passion, enthusiasm, and hard work. They will make all the practices, work outs, and games. Winning is important but being competitive, working hard, and learning will be the baseline for everything the team does. Each player should enjoy this opportunity and have fun with everything they do.

Players will have the opportunity to learn and develop their game from some of the best coaches in this area and abroad. College players, coaches and professional players will be available throughout the year, both in the winter and summer season, to help these young men with their development. Players will be able to spend time with the other Locos players both on and off the field so that the older college players can help the younger player continue to develop and mature. The Lima Locos have been in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League for over 20 years. Over 75 players have gone on to play professionally with players obtaining a first round picks and many other top
round draft picks. The Locos have a very deep tradition, even as a summer team. We believe that once you become a Loco you are always a Loco, meaning our organization will help each other with anything a player, coach, or associate may need. It is our extended family, and that philosophy which has helped make us the best franchise in the league. We are excited to develop and support our youth division program with the 13U team the Locos Express; and, we look forward to creating and developing one of the best teams in this part of the country.
